Tanacetum annum
Our Blue Tansy essential oil is grown and distilled in Morocco. Sometimes known as Moroccan Tansy, or Moroccan Blue Chamomile, Blue Tansy has become very popular in recent years for use in skin care products, especially in face creams. Tanacetum annum is often confused with common tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) but the former produces an essential oil that is completely different chemically as it contains no thujone and high amounts of chamazulene making the oil dark blue in color, giving rise to its common name of Blue Tansy Oil. For topical use, lower dilutions are best, about 5%.
It has an intoxicatingly sweet and creamy-rich, and somewhat camphorous scent, with an herbaceous bottom. It would be a good heart-note, or middle note in a perfume.
