Product Description
Citrus aurantium Dulcis
Rutaceae family
Grown and pressed in California
Sweet orange has more of a sunny, sweet and happy note than bitter orange.
All citrus have some actions in common. With only a couple of exceptions, citrus oil is always pressed from the peel, not distilled. All citruses have an uplifting, happy feel.
Citrus prefers to be kept in dark, cool places and will go off after some time, depending largely on how much air finds its way in to oxidize the oil. Citrus oil past its prime will smell insipid, too sweet, flat, and like a forced smile. Throw it away, don't use it. Spoilt citrus oil has actually been known to do the opposite of fresh citrus oil.
Sweet orange oil is great to put in a room diffuser in a childs room as children usually love it.
Blends well with geranium, lavender, neroli, and petigrain.
Be careful putting sweet orange, or any citrus oil, directly on the skin, or adding drops directly to the bath without diluting. It may burn you. Dilute and you'll be fine.
If you love citrus, be sure and also try Italian bergamot, grapefruit, lemon, pressed lime, mandarin, bitter orange, blood orange and tangerine
