Black Currant Bud
Please note: this is a perfumers ingredient--it's not a pourable oil--it's a solid absolute and not suitable for diffusing or other aromatherapy uses.
For perfumers, it can be slightly warmed for ease of use.
Prepared via solvent extraction from the buds, via concrete, in France
Delicious, mouth watering, rich, red juiciness, with a wave of green, perfect for combining with a sweet citrus friend....Astringent and deep purple waves radiate out, shimmering fruity delight.
The absolute is a dark viscous liquid of dark green color and powerful spicy-woody odor. There is slightly phenolic undertone and the tenacity is not outstanding…….
This is not what we have, and there is little agreement here at Enfleurage as smell is so subjective. For one, our black current bud is a solid to semi solid. There are more jammy, tangy, fruity notes in ours, and it is definitely spicy-green with an animalic dry down. It’s a very interesting, huge absolute with lots of strength and personality.
This absolute is beautiful with citruses and florals such as jasmine and ylang ylang.
