Yuzu peel is a traditional staple of Korean and Japanese cooking; the essential oil is of course in the peel and smells like a psychadelic explosion of grapefruit  and mandarin. So you can see it's a perfectly rational thing to add to almost anything. It's found in Ponzu sauce, vinegars, alcohols, sweets......

The essential oil (as oil and not as the active indredient in the peel,) is less known, but it is available and has aromatic properties similar to lemon, but with a sweet and often floral note. There is no Arctander entry for Citrus junos.

Aromatherapy-wise, I would use yuzu as you would any citrus--the difference is the smell, not really the action. Yuzu is particularly nice blended with flowers and fruits.

As with most essential oils, dilute before using on skin. Perform a patch test before use if essential oil sensitivity is suspected. Do not take essential oils internally. Do not use on children or pets. Seek advice from a trained aromatherapist before using on people with compromised immune systems. Keep away from eyes and mucus membranes. Best to use sunscreen if using yuzu--don't wear it directly in the sun
