Citrus aurantium Amara
Grown and distilled in Paraguay
This is the petitgrain that is most usual. It's from the leaves and tiny twiggy bits of the bitter orange tree and has properties similiar to neroli (from flowers) and bitter orange rind oil. This oil smells uplifting and refreshing yet relaxing.
It's perhaps best known for smelling rather happy and peppy and would be a terrific oil to put in a little terra cotta pot and leave it in your car to keep you refreshed and not swearing at other drivers.
Use it any way that seems logical based on what you are using it for. For skincare, add to a lotion, cleanser, or toner. Or try a simple cool and refreshing compress on the forehead. For respiratory use try steam inhalation. Try some in the diffuser (vaporizer) to make the room feel pretty and happy. Or add to a massage, lotion or bath blend.
