Commonly known as Blue Mallee, this is the principal species of eucalypt used for essential oil harvest in Australia as its 1,8-cineole level is over 90%.

Commonly knonwn as Gully Gum or White Iron Bark, E. smithii contains a little less 1,8-cineole and a little more alpha pinene and globulol than the Polybractea.

Sometimes known as Eucalyptus australiana or narrow-leaved peppermint gum, this eucalypt is basically walks the middle path. The 1,8-cineole levels are high enough to be considered therapeutic, yet it is not too overpowering. Higher pinene and limonene levels make up that difference.
